The Lakehouse in Caliraya

We finally had the courage to go out after more than a year of staying mostly at home. I say mostly because we also had to go out from time to time to attend to urgent matters that couldn't be done online and in the safety and security of our home.

Last weekend's getaway was at Caliraya. The wife had reserved the place via Airbnb lst January intending to celebrate our daughter's and her birthday there. Unfortunately, the weather and school activities got in the way and we had to postpone what could have been our first family outing in a long while. I am sharing some photos of where we stayed.

The house as seen from our approaching boat

The view from the one of the main lakeside structures is splendid. There is the lake and cloud-covered Mts. Banahaw and Cristobal in the distance.

The accommodations are located 70+ steps up, surrounded by gardens of mostly native plants and trees.

Living area in the main house. The sliding doors open up to a conference room complete with a long table, chairs, audio visual equipment and a whiteboard.

The bonfire area just beneath the main house.

A view of the surrounding area from the water's edge. There is another house nearby but it is hidden among the trees and bushes.

The bonfire area up close - there's the cauldron in the middle of 4 logs set up as seats.

There are kayaks and other water sports equipment for use of guests. The equipment at the back are the owners' and not for guests' use.

Life vests and paddles for everyone's use

More on Caliraya in future posts. Meanwhile, I will also be posting soon about an even more recent trip; this time to the beach (finally!) in Batangas.
