Coco Bistro at Bali Collection

We decided to go out and explore a bit last night and ended up going to Bali Collection to shop for souvenirs. I found the place to be somewhat of an outlet/depot type of development. There were many legit shops like Polo, Quiksilver and Prada aside from local shops like those selling jewelry, souvenirs and books/stationery. There was a SOGO somewhere but we decided against going around as it was quite humid outside and not so comfortable walking around and ending up sweating a lot from the activity. We did find a supermarket and souvenir shop where we got stuff like Sambal Pedas and Sambal Lampung sauces, as well as souvenir items unique to Bali.

We also decided to have our dinner there and found the Coco Bistro where we could sample local dishes. Following are a few photos of the place and what we ate. In a tropical setting like Bali, we also decided to have fresh coconut for our drinks.

Table top candle and shakers
Sea food selections for however you want them to be cooked
Bistro signboard
Grilled red snapper - all our meals came with steamed rice and veggies
Sate Campur - satay barbecue of chicken, beef and pork

Bali collection is located inside an enclave in Nusa Dua. The place is very secure and it seems visitors can roam around without worry of being harassed or exposed to some type of criminality. There were lots of tourists from Russia and Australia judging from appearances and the conversations we couldn't help but overhear. The entire Bali Collection complex was clean, orderly and with an environment that one would want back home in similar tourist sites in the Philippines. I guess we could learn a lot (both positives and negatives) about tourism-related development from the experiences of Bali, Indonesia.
